Verdict

Analyze is taken to get the better of Garrigon, Barton Sands and J R Stevenson in this claiming contest. Analyze has quickly made his mark for Brendan Powell, having already notched up three wins over a mile here since leaving Mick Channon, for whom he was successful five times in all. The six-year-old is back up in trip today, but won over ten furlongs at Ayr last August so there is no doubt about his ability to get the trip and he would appear to have solid claims in this company. Garrigon is still a maiden but has threatened to win in slightly better company than this in the past, and has raced here plenty of times. Barton Sands is only plating class but has won a few times on Turf so if fit after his mini-break, can take a hand in proceedings. J R Stevenson will benefit from the drop in grade but needs things to go his way. Nevertheless he can boast course and distance form and is another not to rule out entirely, but Analyze makes more appeal and is taken to follow up.
