Verdict
Coranglais is selected ahead of Ligne d'Eau and Double M in an otherwise none-too competitive looking affair. Coranglais and Ligne d' Eau met at Wolverhampton three weeks ago, and it was the latter that came out on top by a head as Steve Drowne produced him right on the line to catch his rival. The step back up to six furlongs has suited the three-year-old, but he is now a pound worse off with Coranglais which should just about tilt the scales in his favour. He was a nervous sort when with Tim Easterby, but Milton Bradley seems to have calmed him down and he has run some good races in defeat since gaining his first success for the stable at Bath in the summer. He looks well-weighted these days compared to the form he showed when beating Blue Spinnaker at Pontefract in 2003, and is taken to record an overdue success. Double M may have a say in matters, having won here six times in all, but he has not shown his usual sparkle of late and is worth taking on again. The rest have little to recommend them, and for the winner we return to Coranglais.
