In depth

Verdict

Natch represents high-quality connections but has not looked the most willing to date and it doesn't surprise to see cheekpieces now applied. Mercer's Troop displayed great resilience to score on his racecourse debut at Kempton in January but does have to concede plenty of weight to all rivals. Whispering Sands got the hang of things very late on when making his debut here and will improve but ARTARMON is the choice. Hopefully he won't need the run, Jamie Spencer is booked and he concluded his juvenile campaign with a promising effort at Nottingham when filling the minor placing. He appealed as the sort to do well as a three-year-old on that occasion.
