In depth
Verdict
The finale can go to Dawaar who is likely to be more value than the fully exposed Flotta, with Skibereen, Secluded and Hearts 'n Minds others who can be considered in an open affair. Dawaar appreciated the move up in trip when second over a mile and a quarter at Pontefract, and with Kahyasi on the dam's side, will relish the extra trip here. Although no world beater, he is going the right way, and with the Michael Jarvis stable continuing in good form, he is a sporting selection. Skibereen looked none too keen when asked to go about his business on his last visit here and is not one to put the mortgage on, while Flotta will be popular with many after his efforts so far, but he too seemed reluctant to take the lead when second to Mr Ed at Salisbury, and drops back in trip. Heats 'n Minds has been highly tried, finishing third in the Lupe stakes at Goodwood and 10th in the Vodafone Oaks, but once again appeared not to stay at York. Even, so in this company she should go close, but not close enough to stop Dawaar from opening his account.
