Verdict
A poor opener here, with Our Imperial Bay taken to come good and defeat recent winner Slyboots in receipt of 7lb. The selection has shown nothing special so far in his career, but has at least run well in defeat against some decent opposition. he appears to like this decent ground well enough and is at home over the trip, so now that he has come across such an ordinary affair, he can score for the first time over hurdles. Charlie Mann will probably be confident that his Slyboots, who scored over course and distance earlier in the month, can follow up here. He may well be right, but he was driven hard to win that race and carries a penalty for the win, which will make it much tougher at the finish here. Nevertheless he should go well. Fabrezan has not set the world alight so far, but is another who could claim a place, although he gives the impression further would be better and Herecomespapin, who was pretty ordinary on his hurdling debut, showed more promise on his previous bumper start to suggest that he too could go well. But we will take Our Imperial Bay to land the spoils.
