The lightly raced Jimmy Byrne has the scope to beat more exposed rivals such as And Toto Too, One Way Ticket and Tease. Mick Channon's gelding beat the odds-on Authority at Newmarket two weeks ago, in a race that many reckoned was the worst on the three day card. However, that success, albeit in a moderately run affair, was a big improvement on his Newbury debut, and we feel that their is more to come from the son of Red Ransom. Most of the others have been hard to place, with And Toto Too finding it tough since her narrow win at Salisbury where she benefited from a typical Fallon ride. She needs to come back down the ratings, while One Way Ticket will appreciate the move back up to seven furlongs, having just been touched off on his third start for Milton Bradley at Ripon. He has shaped like a sure-fire future winner lately and can give Jimmy Byrne most to do. Mary's Baby let us down when given the nod at Windsor to follow up her earlier course win but there were excuses as she was hampered at least twice. She, and Richard Hannon's Tease who showed signs of a return to form last time are others to consider, but in an open event Jimmy Byrne can follow up.
