Verdict
Ripple Effect absolutely bolted up over course and distance three days ago and is taken to score again, the main dangers possibly being Rowan Pursuit, Annishirani, I Wish and Emerald Fire. Rowan Pursuit has won over course and distance but, being seven pounds higher in the ratings than for the most-recent of those wins, has to improve again but should run well. Annishirani won a course and distance maiden last year but has competed well in a light campaign since so is another to consider. Pants and I Wish are also course and distance winners and cases can be made for them, particularly the latter, who is back to a winning mark and Liam Keniry takes a useful three pounds off her back. Emerald Fire is actually six-pounds lower in the weights than when winning here over six furlongs last March and, judged by the way she came home over six on her latest run, which came at this venue, a step up in trip will not be wasted on her in this interesting contest. However, it was hard not to be taken by the smooth success of Ripple Effect on Wednesday and she could well follow up today.
