      Verdict

      High Ridge is worth another chance in this company and is selected in preference to Pippa's Dancer and Depressed. The last named has finally been given some slack by the handicapper and is back on a winning mark. Depressed goes well here and, as John Egan knows plenty about his quirks, a bold bid cannot be ruled out. Pippa's Dancer made the most of a good opportunity to score at Kempton earlier in the month and has a solid chance of following up despite being set to race off a 5lb higher mark. The drop back to sprint distances could be the making of the daughter of Desert Style and she is one to bear in mind if there is strong support for her in the betting ring. However, High Ridge has the edge in terms of experience and this wily old character is given the benefit of the doubt after a luckless run at Thirsk 12 days ago. The booking of Jamie Spencer suggests his connections mean business and High Ridge is expected to be given every assistance to get back to winning ways this afternoon.
