In depth

Verdict

Phluke has been in good form on turf recently but is still potentially well treated returned to the all-weather now and is taken to resume winning ways at the main expense of Swift Oscar and Ela Paparouna. The last mentioned has been given a two-month break since her latest start and hold solid claims on her sand debut, if fit for her return, with the Candy stable in form now. Ali Bruce has been running with consistency of late and receives weight all round so has to be considered along with Geoff Huffer's Bobski, although he is now 15lbs higher than when scoring here in April. Doohulla had little chance behind the well-handicapped Foley Millennium at Chester last time and has claims if staying this trip, while Desert Dreamer seems a shade high in the weights judged by previous all-weather form. The handicapper is finally beginning to relent with Ed Dunlop's Apex, who is another to consider, although a bigger threat may come from Swift Oscar. The John Hills-trained colt has some solid form here and, while creeping up in the weights, has to be respected. Phluke has done little wrong of late though and is taken to score again.
