Red Inca has followed an unusual path here having won a chase at Fakenham last month. Highway One is also fit from a jumps campaign while Rakematiz is one of four course and distance winners. Abel Tasman is another but this may be a shade too far for Thorn. Beat The Breeze was second over track and trip last month and again found only one too good over 1m6f at Chelmsford but we’re loathe to desert the bang in-form DEVIZES, who showed a very willing attitude to land a Class 4 race here last time and may be capable of defying a further 4lb rise. Flying Standard won twice on artificial surfaces last year and his yard can get one ready at home so he’s worth a market check.
