Verdict
Yomalo gets the call over Chimali, Maddie's a Jem and Fission. Yomalo has the most consistent form on view, including a victory over the course and distance last September when partnered by Richard Quinn. That was only the second time that the Scot had ridden the son of Woodborough, and it is interesting that he is back on board for the first time since. The gelding's style of running is suited to this track so it makes you wonder why he has not appeared here more than just the once, but he can make up for lost time today. Chimali is another course and distance winner who will be more at home back over six furlongs, while Maddie's a Jem bids to bounce back after beating only one home at Southwell last time from a wide draw. She is in stall two today and a bolder showing is anticipated. Fission has won her in the past but seems to need a bit further these days, and so all in all we prefer the claims of Yomalo.
