In depth

Verdict

Those to have run haven't looked to be anything out of the ordinary in their short careers so it may be worth taking a chance with one of Gulch's Rose or Nightjar. We'll suggest Jeremy Noseda's filly. The selection still holds an entry for the 1,000 Guineas and will need to run a big race today if she's to justify her place in that line-up. She boasts a smart American pedigree, her yard has a decent record here and William Buick is good value for his claim. Nightjar wasn't cheap at 200,000 dollars but he's related to any number of winners and is sure to know what's required of him at the first time of asking. If he gets away on terms then his draw in stall one should also prove to be a good one. Riqaab and Indian Skipper are the most interesting of those with experience whilst it would be remiss not to mention Richard Hannon's Blur, a 110,000 gns daughter of Oasis Dream, but we'll take Gulch's Rose to blossom.
