In depth
Verdict
A chance is taken with Tregarron, who deserves a change of fortune and is preferred over Polar Sun, who is unexposed but has something to prove on a firm surface. Taranaki is also due another success and, with Travis Block taking 7lb off with his claim, he too can go close in this company. Mistral Sky was consistent on the All Weather at the start of the year and gave his supporters plenty of cheer when he finally added to his tally. However, he has failed to sparkle back on turf and may be best watched for the time being. Joy And Pain has a similar profile and needs to put a very poor effort at Goodwood behind him before he can be recommended with confidence again. Therefore, we go with Tregarron, who has gone close off this sort of mark on several occasions and has very little to find to make his well being count in this company.
