Verdict
Fortune Point bids to defy a six-pound rise in the weights for his narrow win over Steely Dan on Tuesday but is taken to follow up, with Sterling Guarantee and Paradise Valley a couple to give him a race. Fortune Point had dropped to a mark of 54 when getting back to winning ways earlier this week, opening his all-weather account in the process. A six-pound rise still leaves him well weighted compared to his best turf form, and the step up in trip should not bother the six-year-old who has been campaigned over hurdles in the past. Sterling Guarantee is still a maiden but continues to shape as though a win is in the offing. He is normally held up off the pace, but if Adrian Nicholls has him a bit handier, he can get involved at the business end. Paradise Valley has a bit to do based on his claiming victory at Wolverhampton in January, and reportedly had breathing problems on a return there on Thursday when last of six. However, this is not the strongest of contests so he cannot be discounted, nor can Aveiro with his stable in form. Without being overly confident, Fortune Point can pay to support again.
