      Verdict

      DASHED came up short over a mile at Newmarket a fortnight ago having faded close home. But she won over today’s shorter trip at Redcar last year and Roger Varian’s filly can return to winning ways in this modest company. Bequest has been thereabouts over shorter distances recently while King's Girl got nowhere near the winner when second at Nottingham on her return to action but much better is expected from Sir Michael Stoute’s charge today. Lady Schannell and Mrs Worthington may do best of those handicapping for the first time.
