Verdict
There is little to choose between Cornish Rebel and Eric's Charm in this beginners' chase and they should both be thereabouts at the finish, but we will narrowly side with Cornish Rebel as the one to beat. The selection proved himself to be a smart hurdler last season, but he finished behind Eric's Charm when running disappointingly when last seen out at Aintree. He still looked green that day and he looks the type who may have come on a bundle since, so we are happy to take a chance on him here on his chasing bow. Eric's Charm has a similar profile to our selection and he looks the type that will do well in the chasing sphere, but the suspicion is that he is better on a right-handed track and that is enough for us to take him on on this occasion. Kalexandro looks the best of the remainder, but his jumping is far from reliable and he is not one to place a great deal of faith in, and for the the winner we return to Cornish Rebel.
