Verdict
Kilkishen was held by the odds-on Westerner Lady when falling at the last on his chasing bow at Kilbeggan but it was a very encouraging start and there will be more to come. Kerrieonvic was beaten in a close finish by Don Poli over hurdles in 2014 and his pedigree suggests chasing will be his game so he's likely to make a bold bid for a successful debut despite a long absence. Bay Of Freedom is another having his first start over the bigger obstacles and he scored on very heavy going over hurdles in April but it's another newcomer to chasing, WOODFORD ISLAND, who looks the one to be on. Gordon Elliott's charge landed a maiden hurdle at Navan in January in very testing conditions and has always looked like a potentially decent chaser.
