Verdict

Although MAWSEM hasn't competitively jumped yet his form in bumpers is very solid and George Baker has acquired the services of Tony McCoy for his first start over hurdles. The trip is ideal and we take the chance that he can display enough ability over timber to win this. Silverlord has previously shown bits and pieces of ability in four starts by placing three times, but he may need to find more to get involved with the honours here. Piroulet makes a jumps debut for a respected trainer and cannot be ruled out if he has schooled well since his switch from flat running in France. Highway Code was only beaten by one at Warwick when last seen in February but the form from that race looks weak. Hatton Flight looks a big danger having had six flat wins and he is clearly regarded well having participated in a Listed Novices' Hurdle at Kempton last month on his first start over timber.
