In depth

Verdict

Mr Mischief did his supporters proud at Wetherby last week and is taken to complete a hat-trick, with Phar Out Phavorite and Absolute Power out to stop him. Pat Haslam's five-year-old was given a good ride by Pat Merrigan last time, but Tony McCoy was successful on him at Towcester earlier and is back on board now. The selection is plenty fit enough, having also had a couple of outings on the Flat earlier this year, and has plenty going for him here. Phar Out Phavorite opened his account at Hereford last time but has been described as a bit of a monkey by his trainer and is not guaranteed to produce the same effort. If he does then a place looks assured, while of the rest, Absolute Power makes some appeal. Only just touched off over the course and distance last time, he should be there or thereabouts, and is best of the rest. However, Mr Mischief's trainer would not be taking him all the way to Shropshire from North Yorkshire just for place money, and he is a confident choice to oblige.
