In depth

Verdict

In what is a dreadful contest even by bumper standards what can only be a tentative vote goes to Havenstone, who is preferred to the two Don McCain-trained newcomers Proprietor and Our Jim. Neither of the last two mentioned would need to be anything out of the ordinary to take a hand in this first time out and the yard is capable of producing one to do just that but they make only limited appeal on pedigree and a safer bet looks to be Havenstone, who has shown a consistent level of form in his three starts and a reproduction of his best may well suffice in such a poor heat. Mark Rimell's Two T'Three Weeks was well held on her Warwick debut but may do better now that she races on a faster surface, while Jazz City needs to improve on the form of his two previous outings to take a hand here. Havenstone may not need to improve though and he is preferred.
