Verdict
Impero can land a weak contest at the expense of Our Imperial Bay and Winged Lady. Impero has yet to win a race of any nature but the opposition is so poor here that he looks the pick. Second at Market Rasen in November over a similar trip to this, Bill Clay's six-year-old has had just two outings this season, the latest being over two miles at Towcester 17 days ago. He should appreciate the step back up in trip, and can account for Our Imperial Bay who has an absence to overcome, but who shaped fairly well last term. Winged Lady has shown a glimmer of hope and has Sam Thomas to help, but even so is hard to fancy, and Impero will never have a better opportunity to open his account.
