In depth

Verdict

The Polomoche, Montys Moon and Calgary Bay are the three to consider here, with Nicky Henderson's The Polomoche given the nod. Calgary Bay represents Henrietta Knight and therefore deserves respect. A son of Taipan, he is sure to have been well prepared for his debut. His family boasts only modest winners though, and he is taken on. Monty's Moon has shown ability in his two races to date for Evan Williams, and has the most experience in the field. He looks sure to play a leading part here and can hit the frame. The Polomoche is a son of Beneficial, related to three winners, and his dam was a useful hurdler. He looks the most likely winner on breeding, and Henderson can ready them first time. The Polomoche looks the one to be on.
