In depth

Verdict

Ripalong Lad showed promise on his debut at Chesptow earlier this month and has to be respected but it is hard to get away from Supreme Melody who gets the vote with Santinho rated the pick of the rest. The selection has improved with each start and a reproduction of her last time out form may well suffice for the Philip Hobbs-trained mare. Asturion was well held on his Southwell debut, while Wichenford Willy makes limited appeal on his debut. A more interesting debutant may be the Evan Williams-trained Santinho but he will need to be useful to get the better of Supreme Melody.
