In depth

Verdict

Predicament is the pick over Harry Potter, Conroy and Man From Highworth in this novices' chase. Predicament was fancied at Taunton just six days ago, but seemed to get going too late and was held by Goldbrook. However, he seemed to handle the fast ground well, and although hard to place in the past, could now start to make a name for himself on what is only his third outing over fences. Harry Potter shaped well here behind Lindsay in February and in the main has been most consistent so can give the selection most to do. Conroy is also worth keeping on the right side, having finished a close second to Rooster's Reunion here in October, but he has not been out since and in all probability will need the run, while Man From Highworth needs to step on his latest Taunton third to Pardishar to figure. With Tony McCoy to coax him round, Predicament can come good.
