In depth
Verdict
Haggle Twins makes plenty of appeal over this trip and is selected ahead of Sharp jack and Gastornis. A betting market move for the lightly raced Golden Oak would also be interesting, as he showed improvement last time and, with Tony McCoy in the plate, there are plenty of reasons to expect him to put up a bold show. Golden Oak does lack experience over fences though and, as he has obviously been hard to keep straight, he may not want the ground to be too testing. Gastornis is another whose career has been restricted due to injury and there are holes to be picked in his profile. However, as he has won over a third of his completed starts, he has to merit respect and a big run can be anticipated. Sharp Jack was a bit disappointing behind the selection last time out and needs to pull something out of the fire to redress the balance. Still, that was his first run for six weeks and he may have needed the outing to clear his tubes. He is suited by today's conditions and it would not be surprising to see him register a better effort. However, Haggle Twins caught the eye until his stamina gave way at Bangor and he is expected to really appreciate this drop in distance. Again the ground should not be an issue Charlie Mann's charge looks the one to be on here.
