Verdict
Chaninbar merits respect whilst Dream Catcher won well enough over course and distance but we're content to take them on with Southern Regent. The selection has had just the one start over hurdles and that was back in February but he shaped quite encouragingly when finishing around a ten length fourth to Song Of Songs. This gelding, who won the Indian Derby in his former career, should be all the better for that initial experience and has been given plenty of time by his handler; he's taken to reward that patience this afternoon. Chaninbar certainly holds the upper hand as far as experience is concerned and it's not easy to knock his chance although the concession of a stone to the majority makes him worth taking on at the likely prices. There should be more to come from Dream Catcher who was having just his second start when landing a maiden hurdle here last month and that was quite a taking performance. Speed Up should win one of these one day but was a shade disappointing last time whilst Weet Yer Tern is up against it at the weights but That'll Do Nicely is of interest on his hurdling bow as he showed definite signs of ability in bumpers and he's well worth a market check. Our idea of the winner though is Southern Regent.
