Lady Florence ran a very nice race off a similar mark last time but with her untested on ground this soft we turn to DEVILS RIVER, who saves his best for stesting conditions and Go On Be A Lady can also be considered but is difficult to assess in this handicap hurdle. Proven to act on testing conditions the selection started this season with a run of silver medals. His mark rise despite defeat last time is a concern but he may just be the runner best suited by this ground. Lady Florence has found just one too good twice in five starts in this sphere and the latest of those, on her last start, has earned her a two pound rise in the weights. It could be argued on that she is better treated than the pick but she might not go on ground this heavy. Depending how you look at it Go On Be A Lady is or isn't well treated. Her form is muddling and we await her first run in these ranks before getting involved. Lindseyfield Lodge is now fully exposed but beat a subsequent winner home when half-way down a chase field last time and she looks competitive off this mark. There's plenty of ifs and buts around most of these runners but with form on the ground in the bank we like Devils River.
