In depth

Verdict

A wide open seller here and many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Samson Des Galas, Comfortable Call and Astronaut and the narrow vote is given to the last named. The selection has been in good form of late without winning but a reproduction of his latest third behind Fantastico sets the standard in the context of this race and he need only run up to that mark to score. Samson Des Galas rates the main danger on his latest second behind Maunby Rocker but that was on a much softer surface and for that reason he is over looked. Comfortable Call is another worthy of respect on his best form but he has failed to complete the course in two of his last three runs so he can not be put forward with any confidence. Lazy Leana showed improved form to be fourth in similar grade last time and is another with place claims but she is very one paced and may be seen to even better effect over a longer trip. Of the remainder Sea Maize is the highest rating of these on official bhb figures and should be noted in the market but he has not run up to that mark of late and in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum for the winner we return to Astronaut.
