In depth
Verdict
Oso Magic is the pick ahead of Miss Wizadora, with Upham Lord and Lanmire Tower seen as the main dangers. Oso Magic hails from a yard that does really well at the Lincolnshire track, and the seven-year-old has been consistent enough to warrant support here. Successful over fences at Catterick in December, he has since been beaten twice on two return visits there, and needs to brush up his jumping, but remains a progressive sort and can pay to follow. Miss Wizadora won well at Fontwell the time before last but was a poor second there next time, and does not have as much scope as the selection. Neither does Upham Lord who always seems to find one too good these days. Lanmire Tower put in a forceful performance at Doncaster in March, but bombed out badly at Wincanton later that month and cannot be backed with confidence, while Doe Nal Rua has plenty of weight for what he has achieved to date. Oso Magic will like conditions, and as long as he treats the fences with respect, can pay to support here.
