    Verdict

    The Grey Dyer holds a lofty reputation but his tendency to make jumping errors makes him a difficult favourite to have full confidence in. Scotton Green should be able to stay the trip but his recent completion record is poor and he has not won for two years. Red Rampage visited the winners' enclosure at Newcastle after taking full advantage of a soft lead. It is doubtful that the same will occur here. Chadswell has form on the surface and is stepped up in class. Reverse Charge and Thrill a Minute similarly step up in grade. Courage Under Fire cleaned up off lower marks earlier in the season but his trainer is out of form at present and he is not well treated by the handicapper. We will take our chances with Fandango De Chassy. Rated just 97, he is hardly from the most fashionable of yards but he handles the conditions well and he represents far better value at his predicted odds.
