In depth
Verdict
A fairly ordinary contest for this maiden with not too many making appeal. Super Sammy has become frustrating to follow and invariably seems to find one too good. He can handle any surface but we'll leave him and Little Big Horse (who is likely to find the ground against him) alone. Gastornis has yet to encounter anything like this surface during his bumpers but does at least offer plenty of scope in this company. Hirapour is sure to be popular on hurdles debut. Once rated at 98 on the flat, he stayed up to two miles albeit on a quicker surface. A chance is taken on the each-way selection of Knowhow. He was slightly disappointing in a stronger contest at Newbury, but he looked a certain future winner in his Kempton bumper.
