In depth

Verdict

Sir Chauvelin scored over track and trip on New Year’s Day with the less exposed ASHINGTON back in third. But the latter re-opposes on more favourable terms today and is fancied to turn the tables. Miranda had slipped down the weights before scoring at Kempton in December but is 9lb higher for this while Sebastopol was raised 10lb for winning at Wincanton earlier and is fitted with a tongue-tie after disappointing at Huntingdon. Seaborough and Kaizer failed to threaten on their latest outings but Groveman is not badly treated after struggling in Listed company.
