In depth

Verdict

Mr Auchterlonie showed enough on his chasing debut here over 2m4f last month to suggest that he can win this and is taken to do so at the main expense of Harrovian and Speed Kris. The selection failed to win over hurdles but was always more likely to do better once switched to the larger obstacles and did not disappoint on his chasing debut, finding Why The Big Paws just a short head to good. Malcolm Jefferson's Another Chance has plenty of experience over fences but is becoming expensive to follow and of more interest may be Pauline Robson's Harrovian, who goes straight over fences after just one effort over timber previously this season. Dark Shadows is going chasing rather late in his career at the age of 10 and a bigger threat may come from Speed Kris, who represents the in-form stable of Sue Bradburne but is held by the selection on running here last time. In summary, this is not a particularly strong contest and Mr Auchterlonie should only need to reproduce his last time out form to win.
