Verdict
Sconced appears to run well over this course and disrance and he is gicen the nod over Gone Too Far, Knockdoo and Lord Lamb. Mark Polglase's charge is hardly the most consistent of conveyances but he certainly knows his way around the Musselburgh track having taken a similar event earlier in the season. He confirmed his well-being with a third to Henry Island at Warwick over an extreme trip and is likely to start a warm order here today. Gone Too Far finished behind Sconced here in May and has had a couple of runs over hurdles since. His last appearance was behind Karju at Perth four days ago so he should not want for fitness. Lord Lamb was rated 90+ on the flat when we last saw him but this talented hurdler has had a very very long absence since we last saw him on the racecourse. The fact that Kevin Darley isn't riding him here today suggests that today probably isn't the day. Darley has elected to ride Knockdoo. The ten-year-old has been kept busy over hurdles but looks a tad one paced these days when push comes to shove. Gregorian has yet to run over this trip on the flat and does at least have the benefit of being relatively unexposed. Paddy Mul is best watched on return while the remainder look difficult to fancy. Sconced has fewest questions to answer in the context of this race and we will offer him up as a reluctant selection.
