Verdict
HAWKS REEF had two runs last term, improving from a fair Redcar debut to post an excellent effort when second to Brick Tops in a decent end-of-season maiden at Doncaster. He looks a guaranteed improver with the step up to a seventh furlong also likely to suit and can take this en route to a decent life in handicap company. President Lincoln is a fascinating contender on his first run for Declan Carroll. Not seen since last summer, the former expensively-bought Aidan O'Brien inmate has a career record of 0-11 but has posted five very decent runner-up efforts in his last six runs. He'll be a danger to all if still in that form but might just need this first run since July. A bigger danger may be Three Darlings, a promising third in a fair York maiden last October. That was a pleasing start and she should be able to find a maiden sooner or later.
