In depth

Verdict

Three yards are doubly represented in this. Saryshagann should prove the pick of the O’Meara runners with the champion booked. The grey made mistakes at Doncaster but kept on for third and will know more today. Mick Easterby also has two and Flat winner Capton should leave his run at Newcastle well behind in time but stablemate QAWAMEES gets the nod on this occasion. Though a maiden on the level, he ran well at Wetherby on his hurdles bow and possibly found the soft ground againt him at Newcastle subsequently. The Tartan Spartan showed promise in his first two hurdle runs but was a big disappointment last time at Down Royal.
