In depth
Verdict
A competitive claimer can go to The Prince at the expense of Dark Charm, Yenaled and Barking Mad to name but three. The Prince did us a favour when gaining his third win of the campaign at Goodwood a fortnight ago and is taken to land this contest for the second year running. At the age of ten he is still in fine fettle, and appears to handle any ground. Ian Williams' old campaigner was odds-on when obliging last year but will be more attractively priced this time due to the inclusion of the likes of Dark Charm who hails from a very much in-form stable, and Yenaled who is seeking his fourth course win. He goes well for Donna Caldwell these days and can reach the frame at least. Another big danger to the selection is Barking Mad who has taken on good company in the past. He needs to be shown who is boss and Kieren Fallon did just that at Windsor last time. Any more rain would help his cause today, and along with Todlea, he cannot be ruled out. In what is an above average claimer, we take The Prince to come out on top again.
