In depth

Verdict

Sir John Lilley showed some promise on his debut at Great Leighs last month and Mark Johnston's colt has to be respected but he would need to improve and preference is for Marning Star, who gets the vote with Randama Bay rated the pick of the remainder. The selection has run to a consistent level of form in both starts this term and a reproduction of his latest effort at Catterick may well suffice. Wilmington has had plenty of chances and is becoming expensive to follow, while Warm Tribute needs to improve on all known form to trouble the judge. Ian Wood's Randama Bay has shown a respectable level of form and has to be respected but marginal preference is for Marning Star.
