        Verdict

        Good recent form is in short supply for this handicap making selection difficult but we will side with BOTHAM who we expect to shirk off challenges from Almost Married and Ridley Didley. The American bred selection was stepped up to 7f last time and ran with credit despite failing to make the minors. He returns to his favoured trip here today though and should do well amongst such lowly company. That said he has struggled on the quick ground here in the past and is only marginally preferred to the next horse on our shortlist, Almost Married. The gelding makes a return to action after six months away from the track. He has done well over 5f in the past and will appreciate the quick ground here so should at least make the minors. Ridley Didley was fifth when running over course and distance last time. He raced prominently on the outside until the final furlong. He should have come on for the run and should be putting pressure on the earlier mentioned. A finish in the minors looks likely. The market should hold the clues to the rest who offer very little in the way of good form. For us Botham is preferred.
