Verdict
Golden Odyssey may have the edge over principal rivals Beauchamp Gigi and Simply Mystic in this mares' only novices' hurdle. The front three in the market should have this between them, and the experience of Golden Odyssey can prove decisive. Keith Reveley's inmate won well at Market Rasen and was a creditable fourth behind the useful Lady Zephyr at Newbury. Interestingly, Tony McCoy has ridden her to all three of her victories to date, and connections are no doubt keen to keep the partnership intact. The daughter of Barathea will be given a stern test by Beauchamp Gigi who should improve further after scoring on her debut for Howard Johnson over the course and distance in December. She warmed to her task that day after a few early errors and should in time recoup more of the 200,000gns that Graham Wylie shelled out to bring her over from Ireland. Simply Mystic gained reward for some fair placed efforts by opening her account at Huntingdon last time. Her form does not look quite as good as her two main rivals but she should be booked for third place at least unless Zaffaran Express or Nobodys Perfect improve markedly. A good little contest to open proceedings can go the way of Golden Odyssey.
