Verdict

Wot A Shot won in a higher grade here in January and is only 2lb higher. With Brian Hughes doing the steering, the top weight is unlikely to be far away again. There is a future winner hiding in Farlam King but it is reluctant to show its face. Gemologist wasn’t beaten far in a maiden here on her first run for Lucinda Russell and makes her handicap debut. OROMO (NAP) is a long-standing maiden but has shown more than enough to suggest he could win a race like this having been in decent form on the all-weather since the turn of the year. Daryl Jacob has travelled up to ride the Irish raider, who looks the pick of the weights.
