Love Angel gets the call here ahead of Abstract Folly and Brace Of Doves. The Mark Johnston-trained selection had two runs as a two-year-old, both over six furlongs. This $37,000 dollar purchase showed enough in those races to suggest that he could win a race of this nature, even though it is not easy to assess the quality of those starts. However, what is sure is that he will appreciate seven furlongs and, as such, seems the safest option here. Hamaasy is bred to be quick but has so far cut little ice in ten starts. However, she might improve for the step up to seven furlongs. Abstract Folly showed plenty of promise in his two juvenile starts and has to be considered, and Boo may well have strengthened up during the winter and might be capable of showing better form. Brace Of Doves will be fit from the all-weather and, with his form rating solidly in the mid-60s, he can go well as he has proven that he stays this distance, but Mark Johnston's second runner, Trivandrun, will probably need further to be seen to best effect. This returns us to the selection, which is Love Angel.
