Verdict
The David Nicholls-trained Bailieborough has every chance at the weights in this claimer but has yet to prove his effectiveness at today's trip so preference is for the three-year-old Always Flying, who gets the verdict over Ambushed. The last mentioned had been running well over hurdles at fences prior to a return to the level in similar grade at Ayr recently. However, Peter Monteith's gelding disappointed there and is difficult to recommend with any confidence now. Devine Light gave little sign of encouragement on her return, while Kyle Of Lochalsh has been well held in handicaps of late and is now dropped in class. There is very little in the form book to suggest that any of the others are good enough to win so the vote goes to Always Flying. Mark Johnston's gelding is probably a shade high in the weights at present for handicaps but this represents an easier assignment for the son of Fly So Free and a reproduction of his best should suffice.
