Verdict

Saraaf is put up as a tentative selection to beat Hail The Chief and Khanjar. Ian Semple's charge is hardly the most consistent of individuals but these classified races bring out the best in him and he does at least have a good record at the course. Hail The Chief is no stranger to British punters and is now on his second posting at this side of the Atlantic. He is not out of this although his run at Lingfield over ten furlongs was too bad to be true. Khanjar was an expensive flop last time out and is still racing complete with his headgear. He has ability in spades yet he is far from the most resolute individual when push comes to shove. Tony Tie is yet to win this early in the season. Saraaf gets the vote in a very tricky race.
