In depth

Verdict

Ruby Walsh rides Castletownshend for his father, as he did when his mount was narrowly beaten into third in a similar race over the course and distance last month. An outside draw isn't a plus on this track and THAT'S MAD is much better berthed. Richard O'Brien's charge had shown ability at Dundalk before an excellent run over 5f at Navan where he stayed on strongly to finish runner-up in a huge field. He had the favourite Captainofthebounty around seven lengths behind and, though the latter will have come on for the run, he has plenty of ground to make up. Clashaniska improved with each run in his first campaign and was only just touched off over the course and distance on his final start while the once-raced pair We'll Go Again and Arabeska are entitled to do better this campaign.
