Verdict

Harrie was well beaten on his chasing debut at Fairyhouse but is definitely the type to do better. His stable companion Ifyoucatchmenow is another likely to improve for stepping up to this trip while Captain Cj has been unfortunate to come up against some smart novices and was in touch when falling three out at Punchestown on New Year's Eve. First Approach, beaten 30 lengths behind MINELLA INDO in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham, was only 5 lengths behind that winner in another Grade 1 at the Punchestown festival but the latter has the advantage of a run over fences, chasing home the long odds-on Laurina at Gowran, and that may make the difference.
