Verdict

Ga Law’s first preference is the 3.05 Newcastle and Bill Baxter and Datsalrightgino also have alternative engagements in that contest. Remastered is 8lb higher than when second in this last year but he’s had a prep race over hurdles again, as has Our Power. The 2021 shock winner Cloudy Glen is only 3lb higher and was second at Cheltenham last month while Zanza loves it here, though stamina will have to be taken on trust. Midnight River won Grade 3 handicaps at Cheltenham and Aintree last season and Twig is progressing, though still climbing the weights. Kitty's Light was a force to be reckoned with in staying handicaps last season but the handicapper has reacted accordingly. Complete Unknown has yet to finish outside of the first two in five runs over fences but likely market rival MAHLER MISSION is having a first run in a handicap. John McConnell’s charge has an abundance of stamina and was probably unlucky not to win the NH Chase at Cheltenham in March as he was clear when falling two out. A run over an inadequate 2m4f at Carlisle should have put him spot-on for this. Ahoy Senor could make these all go if getting into rhythm but Monbeg Genius jumped poorly on his reappearance at Ascot where Eldorado Allen finished third. Stumptown could figure off a low weight and looks best of the rest.
