    Verdict

There appeared to be no fluke about Bethersden Boy’s victory at Newmarket but Sovereign Prince was keeping on nicely under hands and heels in third and is 6lb better off so may well turn the tables. Harrow blew the start when behind Single Minded here on debut but did finish ahead of Flintstone. Sanitiser only finished sixth in that contest but went on to beat Gaius at Windsor with the latter looking the pick of the three Richard Hannon runners. PENYWERN TAVERNER was one of several eye-catchers in the novice event won by Tolstoy at Yarmouth and gets a tentative vote. Great Max cost 260,000gns as a yearling and is a newcomer to note.
