In depth

Verdict

A typically-competitive renewal, despite a smaller field than usual. Glory And Fortune was runner-up in the Christmas Hurdle, ahead of last year’s winner Soaring Glory and Tritonic, but has been beaten the last twice in handicaps off lower marks. Jetoile, second in the Tolworth, is one of several novices holding strong claims. First Street won his first handicap by more than seven lengths but Nico de Boinville switches to BROOMFIELD BURG, who was probably a bit unlucky when beaten at Cheltenham before giving weight and a comprehensive beating to a subsequent winner at Kempton. Knappers Hill finished third to the smart Jonbon at Ascot in December and holds I Like To Move It on that run - the fourth won a Listed race at Huntingdon on Thursday. Jpr One is still improving and could be well treated but Boothill looks a weak finisher. Gary Moore usually has one laid out for this and Fifty Ball looks the pick of his two runners today.
