Verdict
Valance is sure to have his supporters here but we are happy to side with the progressive Uncle Max. The selection beat So Sure at Ascot last time after showing promise on his debut over hurdles behind Chief Yeoman at Kempton. He looks the type to improve again and he is difficult to oppose in what looks quite a moderate contest. Valance looks to be the one to beat after an impressive success at Huntingdon when he defeated Imperative. However, Imperative let that form down with a disappointing display when a well supported beaten favourite at the same track on Tuesday. Caribbean Man exceeded all expectations when finishing third behind Web Perceptions at Chepstow last time and should be watched in the market to see if he is supported. Of the rest, Lough Derg has to be respected as he hails from the Martin Pipe yard and is sure to have been well schooled for this his hurdling debut, so he is another to monitor in the market. The betting could give us a real insight into the likely outcome of this race, but Uncle Max looks to be on an upward curve and may well be worth supporting.
